About Red Wharf Bay Vineyard
I first planted vines in our field overlooking Red Wharf Bay in 2010. I totally mismanaged them, eventually producing a very small amount of unremarkable wine. Then I thought “Wouldn’t it be so much easier to grow grapes somewhere with a bit more sun?” So I had the idea to plant my vineyard in Andalucia, in southern Spain. Thwarted by the Common Agricultural Policy, I came back to Anglesey, learnt how to do things properly and planted more vines in our field (but I brought some of Spain back with me!). This is the result - a Welsh vineyard with a delightful touch of Spain - ceramics, tapas and delicious wines. Come visit and hear my story…
